Tesla CEO and billionaire Elon Musk officially seized control of Twitter on Thursday after completing his long-awaited $44 billion acquisition. He has already made a splash as he plans to make the social media site available to everyone. Musk’s most recent tweet has now garnered notice as he carries on tweeting after being named the “Chief Twit.” On Saturday, he wrote, “Comedy is now legal on Twitter,” making a suggestion that he wanted to encourage free speech on the network. Notably, Twitter had previously suspended a number of accounts for “small and questionable” offences when Elon Musk sent his message.
Elon Musk explained his motivation for purchasing Twitter by saying that he did so in order to create a common digital arena where individuals of many beliefs might engage in civil discourse without resorting to violence.
