The IPL 2023 Player Auction is scheduled to take place on December 23 in Kochi, and a total of 991 players, including 714 Indian and 277 foreign players, have registered to participate. The BCCI confirmed this on Thursday, December 1. The list comprises 185 players who have been given caps, 786 players who haven’t, and 20 players from associate nations. The IPL Player Registration concluded on November 30, 2022.
As per a BCCI release, the players have been divided into various categories -capped Indian (19 players), capped international (166), associate (20), uncapped Indians who were a part of previous IPL seasons (91), uncapped international who were a part of previous IPL seasons (3), uncapped Indians (604 players), uncapped Internationals (88 players).
Notably, 87 players are available to be purchased in the auction if every franchise has a team of no more than 25 players (of which up to 30 players can be overseas players).

- Sunrisers Hyderabad: INR 42.25 cr.
- Punjab Kings: INR 32.20cr.
- Lucknow Supergiants: INR 23.35cr.
- Mumbai Indians: INR 20.55cr.
- Chennai Super Kings: INR 20.45cr.
- Delhi Capitals: INR 19.45cr
- Gujarat Titans: INR 19.25cr.
- Rajasthan Royals: INR 13.20cr.
- Royal Challengers Bangalore: INR 8.75cr.
- Kolkata Knight Riders: INR 7.05cr.
