RRR’s “Naatu Naatu” received the 80th Golden Globe for best original song-motion picture. Kala Bhairava and Rahul Sipligunj wrote “Naatu Naatu,” which MM Keeravaani composed. Principal performers N.T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan sang the film’s fast-paced song.
RRR cheered when MM Keeravaani accepted the prize.
“Naatu Naatu” competed in the Best Original Song category against “Carolina” (Taylor Swift) from Where the Crawdads Sing, “Ciao Papa” (Jason Isbell) from the same film, and “Hold My Hand” from Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio (Lady Gaga, BloodPop, and Benjamin Rice).
The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills will host the 80th Golden Globe Awards on January 11, 2019. Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, and Shriya Saran play liberation fighters in RRR. If included in India’s Oscar application, the film will compete. If selected, it will compete in Best International Film.
In 2009, singer-musician A R Rahman became the first Indian to win a Golden Globe for “Slumdog Millionaire.” In 1983, “Gandhi” won five Golden Globes and was nominated. Apur Sansar (1961), Salaam Bombay (1989), and Monsoon Wedding (2002) also garnered Golden Globe nominations.
RRR was produced in Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi. OTT platforms broadcast the film. Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, and Shriya Saran star in RRR. After the Golden Globes triumph, attention is on the January 24, 2023 Academy Awards nomination list.

RRR was also nominated for Best Non-English Language Film at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards. SS Rajamouli’s picture faced Germany’s All Quiet on the Western Front, Argentina 1985, Belgium’s Close, and South Korea’s Decision to Leave. RRR lost the Golden Globe to Santiago Mitre’s historical drama Argentina 1985.

In addition to RRR’s Naatu Naatu, other Best Original Song candidates were Taylor Swift’s Carolina from Where the Crawdads Sing, Ciao Papa from Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Lady Gaga’s Hold My Hand from Top Gun: Maverick, and Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
